Jan to March Well we have made a few trips out but with very little success, usually bad weather or right after a front, and no pictures so that is why there is not any reports so far.
March 8, 2008 Today my buddy Tito and his friend Will came down from Houston to fish. We tried a lot of different spots with no luck. Even went to the ship channel for Drum. We did find a big one floating that someone had caught and not punctured the bladder so he was floating in circles in the middle of the channel. We ran over and pulled him aboard and popped him, took a picture and let him go. We ended up in California Hole drifting with shrimp and cork. We got a lot of small trout and I hooked a bid drum. Tito landed the only Redfish of the day, but not a keeper. photo
March 12, 2008 It was a gorgeous day so John and I left early and wet a line. We picked up some shrimp and mullet and ran down to Bunns. Drifted and anchored twice but couldnt loose a bait. We decided to run up to the Klondikes and try a drift. We started seeing mud swirls and dropped anchor. Within 15min we had boated a 27" and a couple of 26" reds. We stayed a little longer and picked up a couple of 23 inchers and called it a day. photo
March 28, 2008 Aaron and I went to our buddies pond and tried some bass fishing. Aaron landed 4 fish, a couple of nice ones but I could only manage a few hits and landed none.
March 30, 2008 Darlene, Devin and I slept in and got a late start. We picked up some shrimp and mullet and headed to Bunns. We did not get any bites so we ran to Cummins Cut to let the dog swim and run along the beach. After that we stopped in the Klondikes, but know luck, before running to Palm Harbor for hamburgers. We then ran up to the shore behind Yucca Cut and picked up 1 nice red, missed several others and got a few hardheads before calling it a day. photo
